About The Position

Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine, will perform a full range of Nuclear Scans. This is a per-diem position with 10-hour shifts, available on weekdays and weekends. The schedule is from 06:30 am to 5:00 pm, with no on-call duties.

Requirements

Completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or ARRT Certification.
BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) within 180 days of hire.
Employees must produce their CEU records to their manager prior to start date and on an ongoing basis thereafter.
Technologists in this position are responsible to maintain CEU activity on-site for a period of two years longer than the technologist’s last licensure renewal date.

Nice To Haves

One (1) to two (2) years of experience.
Prior experience preferred, however, new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

Perform a full range of Nuclear Scans.
Patient reception, identification, and explanation of procedure.
Administer injections and perform flow studies.
Conduct planar static imaging, whole body imaging, and cardiac imaging and analysis.
Perform SPECT imaging.
Label and transfer isotopes to printers.
Perform daily intrinsic/extrinsic floods.
Perform weekly bar phantom/grid tests.
Perform uniformity test and COR of gamma camera using a radioactive source.
Perform dose calibrator daily constancy checks.
Log in/out isotopes.
Perform thyroid probe daily QC.
Perform hot lab, clinic, and injection room surveys.
Conform to electrical safety guidelines.
Follow radiation safety procedures, including spill response.
Adhere to radioactive trash procedures.
Comply with QMP for I131.
Follow fire safety procedures, including RACE and knowledge of escape routes.
Understand and follow the emergency preparedness plan.
Be aware of hazardous materials and the location of MSDS.
Respond to medical emergencies.
Comply with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines.
Follow universal precautions.
Adhere to respiratory etiquette guidelines.
Follow biohazard waste policies, including sharps disposal.
Utilize email, Workday, intranet, and Epic.
Operate gamma camera computers.
