About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Nuclear Medicine Tech performs basic outpatient cardiology Nuclear Medicine procedures as requested by a licensed physician. The role uses professional judgment to provide healthcare services that assist in the diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages, from newborns to elderly patients. The position requires skill in Nuclear Medicine, completion of established competencies within the designated introductory period, and other related duties as assigned. The position is located at Baptist Heart & Vascular Downtown.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
• Required certification: ARRT in Nuclear Medicine or CNMT.
• BLS certification required.
• State license required if applicable.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment.
• Assist the practitioner with operation of radiation detection equipment.
• Order radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures and prepare them for injection, ingestion, or inhalation.
• Identify radioactive substances to complete procedures.
• Process and file films as needed.
• Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
