About The Position
Dominion Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to work in its Component Engineering department at the North Anna Power Station (Nuclear) in Mineral, VA for the summer of 2027. This role involves developing technical documents for equipment failure evaluations, supporting design changes for station reliability improvements, and providing technical input to various departments on equipment-related concerns. The intern will also evaluate equipment performance trends, including conducting field walkdowns.
Requirements
- Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills
- Must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited Engineering program (Mechanical preferred) at a four-year college or university
- Must have an anticipated graduation date of December 2028 or later.
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above
Responsibilities
- Development of technical documents to evaluate equipment failures and other plant conditions.
- Evaluation of equipment performance trends including field walkdowns.
- Development of minor design changes to support station reliability improvements.
- Support development of major design changes to support long-term station reliability improvements.
- Support station departments with technical input on a variety of equipment-related concerns.
