This position is responsible for visually examining chickens and removing birds from the line that do not meet quality criteria. The role requires demonstrated knowledge of chicken defects/diseases and attention to detail to maintain and improve bird quality. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of food safety guidelines to ensure compliance with Company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements. The NPIS Bird Sorter must be able to report regularly and on time to work, including all required hours, overtime, and weekends as scheduled. Responsibilities include lifting, reaching, handling, performing cervical flexion/extension, rotating, standing, walking, balancing, stooping, sorting livers and gizzards, and trimming carcasses with a knife.
