About The Position

This role involves working on the Evisceration line, sorting birds based on quality criteria and ensuring compliance with food safety and USDA regulations. The position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards.

Requirements

• New Poultry Inspection System (NPIS) certificate preferred or ability to successfully pass NPIS test.
• Demonstrated knowledge of chicken defects/diseases.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift, reach, handle, perform cervical flexion/extension, rotate, stand, walk, balance and stoop.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (8-10hrs) on concrete/metal grate floor.
• Ability to perform repetitive over shoulder reaching, torso twisting, grasping, pushing and pulling.
• Good safety record.
• Ability to use small, hand-held tool (i.e., knife, scissors) properly.

Responsibilities

• Visually examine chicken and remove birds from the line not meeting the quality criteria.
• Sort livers and gizzards.
• Trim carcasses with a knife.
• Rotate through various positions on the Evisceration line.
• Report regularly and on time to work, including all required hours, overtime, and weekends as scheduled.
• Follow the established Animal Welfare Program guidelines and procedures.
• Understand and follow established rules and procedures.
• Maintain and improve bird quality.
• Ensure compliance with Company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
