This role involves responding to psychiatric emergencies, providing psychoeducational and medication instruction, and acting as a patient advocate. The position requires establishing and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues to ensure quality patient care. The individual will serve as a psychiatric clinical resource and liaison between programs and providers. Responsibilities include participating in quality improvement initiatives, utilization management, clinical and administrative meetings, and committees. The role also involves participating in training and development for professional growth. The position assesses and manages behavioral health patients, provides leadership in behavioral health emergencies in the EC and inpatient settings, and offers psychiatric consultative services to inpatients at Cape Cod Hospital. A key responsibility is developing and managing a narcotic addiction program to identify and treat patients with chronic opiate habituation. The role adheres to clinical and administrative policies and procedures, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and performs other duties as assigned.
