About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant works in the Neurosurgery Inpatient service at the Clinical Neuroscience Institute. In conjunction with the center’s physicians and clinical staff, the role provides patient primary health care and continuity of medical services under the direction of supervising physicians. Responsibilities vary by position and specialty, and the clinician must be accessible to physicians, staff, and supervisors.

The role requires knowledge of professional medical practice and the ability to provide and evaluate patient care. The clinician applies and adapts medical principles, methods, and techniques to provide ongoing care; takes medical histories; assesses patient conditions and interprets findings; maintains quality assurance and control standards; and responds calmly and effectively in emergencies. Strong communication with patients and colleagues is essential.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited Acute Care APP Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
• Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current State of Ohio licensure, maintained at all times.
• Current Certificate to Prescribe, maintained at all times.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law and professional discretion.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including communication with patients and colleagues.
• Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Electronic Medical Records experience, preferably EPIC.
