About The Position

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. No weekends required. The practice is located in the vibrant Assembly Row district of Somerville, offering a dynamic and convenient setting with easy access via the Orange Line and on-site parking. Our practice focuses on caring for an adult patient population, allowing providers to deliver specialized, patient-centered care. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. The NP may also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Requirements

Master's Degree Nursing required
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, MA
2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience
Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

2-3 years of direct Primary Care experience as an Advanced Practice Provider

Responsibilities

Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
