NP/PA- Hospitalist
About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant specializing in Hospitalist care at Baptist Health - Fort Smith, part of the SCP Health - Locums system. The coverage period is from October 1, 2026, ongoing, with a shift schedule of Days, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. The role involves providing comprehensive hospitalist care to adult and geriatric patients, collaborating with a team of physicians and tele-physicians, performing admission, discharge, and follow-up evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and documenting patient encounters in the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC)
- Active Arkansas NP/PA license
- DEA with AR address
- Active DEA with AR address and prescriptive authority
- ACLS certification
- BLS (AHA) certification
- 2 years recent experience in specialty
- Case logs for past 2 years
- Immunizations (Flu, Hep B, TB, Covid)
Nice To Haves
- Hospitalist experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive hospitalist care to adult and geriatric patients during day shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM).
- Collaborate with a team of 4 physicians and tele-physician for patient management.
- Perform admission, discharge, and follow-up evaluations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe medications.
- Document patient encounters in Epic EMR.
