About The Position
The NP, Occupational Health works in the Occupational Health department at the Honda Plant in Lincoln, Alabama. This is a PRN, as-needed position scheduled on weekdays and included in an on-call rotation. The role evaluates and treats patients, accepts referrals, and may provide inpatient and outpatient specialty consultations. Depending on patient and organizational needs, the practitioner may act as an admitting, attending, or consulting physician for patients hospitalized with primary medical diagnoses. The role also contributes to efforts to improve care quality and cost effectiveness, provides documentation required by insurance companies, and participates in academic programs when requested.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing, obtained before hire or job transfer.
Nice To Haves
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) credential.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients using appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Recommend, participate in, and help ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of patient care.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians.
- Act as an admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on patient, medical staff, and hospital needs.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient specialty consultations, which may include on-call schedules.
