About The Position

The Noon Hour Supervisor (Grades Y5-8) position at Ann Arbor Open at Mack is responsible for supervising students during playtime and lunchtime. The role involves maintaining a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful conflict resolution, organizing group games and activities, and managing play equipment. The supervisor also directs student movement between areas and assists with lunchroom clean-up. This hourly position requires a high school diploma or GED and involves direct responsibility for student safety and well-being during the lunch program.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Regularly required to stand, talk, hear, walk, sit and run.
• Frequently bend or twist more than the average person.
• Required to work out-of-doors during all months of the school year.
• Directly responsible for the safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
• Specific vision abilities required include near and far vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with students and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students at playtime and lunchtime.
• Maintain a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
• Organize group games and activities.
• Assume responsibility for play equipment.
• Direct movement of groups to and from playground, lunchroom and classrooms in a safe and organized manner.
• Assist students in lunch room clean-up.
• Other duties may be assigned.
