About The Position

Under the direction of the principal, this role provides supervision for students on the playground and in the cafeteria. The Substitute Noon Supervisor assists and supervises students entering and leaving the cafeteria and while at play on the playground. They also supervise students during breakfast or lunch in the cafeteria, and may assist in clean-up after lunch. The role may involve issuing citations to students who fail to obey cafeteria or playground rules, intervening when necessary to ensure student safety, and maintaining a good rapport with students and staff. Additionally, the Substitute Noon Supervisor reports pertinent information to teachers or the principal. On rainy days, this role may involve monitoring hallways to ensure students are orderly in their classrooms.

Requirements

  • Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
  • Acceptable behavior of students while interacting in play.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Speak English clearly and distinctly.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Meet schedules.
  • Work outdoors in local weather conditions.
  • Applicants selected for permanent or substitute assignments are required to pay for fingerprinting services and obtain Tuberculosis results prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities
