About The Position

The Noon Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of students during lunchroom and playground activities. This role aims to minimize harmful incidents and communicate any observations or incidents that may affect the well-being of students and school personnel. This is a part-time, 2-hour daily position for a 10-month school year.

Responsibilities

• Assists with duties assigned on the playground and in the cafeteria to ensure student needs are met.
• Assists students with tasks such as retrieving utensils, cleaning spills, and finding seats to ensure a safe, timely, and healthy mealtime experience.
• Arranges food and beverage items, condiments, and utensils at the cafeteria counter and snack carts for student access.
• Reports misbehavior to teachers to provide information and ensure student safety and welfare.
• Supervises students on the playground to enforce rules and intervene immediately when a child's safety is threatened.
• Assists other personnel as required to support their work activities.
