About The Position

The hourly researcher will perform computational materials science or chemistry tasks related to materials behavior. The role is in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas. The researcher will conduct research, write reports and manuscripts, and present results with collaborators and at conferences. The schedule is Monday through Friday, up to 20 hours per week. Applicants must submit at least two professional references with their application; additional references may be added after submission.

Requirements

• PhD in chemistry, materials science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with first-principles calculations and common computational chemistry software.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using and running computational jobs on high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
• Familiarity with Python programming.
