Non-QM Product Trainer

Griffin Funding, Inc.•San Diego, CA
•$65,000 - $85,000

About The Position

Griffin Funding is hiring a Product Trainer to turn product knowledge into production by training loan officers on Non-QM, agency, and government mortgage programs. Reporting to the VP of Sales and partnering with branch managers, the trainer will explain how investor guidelines and programs differ, help loan officers select and structure appropriate loans, and support complete, accurate submissions. The role emphasizes product expertise and teaching rather than loan origination volume. The trainer will deliver onboarding and ongoing instruction, provide scenario-desk guidance, coach loan officers on income calculations and documentation, review files for potential gaps, and collaborate with processing, underwriting, and the lock desk to address recurring issues. The role also includes creating and maintaining training materials, identifying patterns in loan-officer challenges, measuring the effect of training on file quality, pull-through, and turn times, and reporting results to leadership. The position is preferred in office, with remote work considered for the right candidate. Compensation consists of a base salary of $65,000–$85,000 and annual variable compensation of $10,000–$25,000. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), and paid time off are offered.

  • A track record of teaching, coaching, or supporting loan originators, such as in an account executive, trainer, underwriter, or senior processor role.
  • Clear, patient communication skills, including the ability to explain complex guidelines to both new and experienced loan officers.
  • Comfort creating training content such as guides, decks, and recorded sessions, and presenting live in person and on video.
