About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Non-producing Mortgage Retail Sales Manager (SAFE) in Consumer Lending as part of Home Lending. In this role, you will coach, direct, and manage the sales activities of a branch of Mortgage Retail Sales Consultants and the activities of branch support team members. You will manage customer loyalty and/or disloyalty performance levels, making decisions and resolving issues to meet business objectives. You will manage overall branch loan origination activities through the management of branch pipeline by adhering to workflow process, using internal tools and reporting, and ensuring origination, processing, underwriting, and closing timelines are in line with communications and commitments to customers. You will engage stakeholders and internal partners, collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers, and interact directly with external customers. You will recruit, develop, and manage a sales team that generates quality loans compliant with company policies, procedures, and pricing strategies, and develop and maintain a high degree of visibility and credibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace. You will interpret and develop policies and procedures for functional areas with low to moderate complexity, identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development, and develop knowledge of company products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements. You will also develop an understanding of federal and state home lending regulations, provide guidance and direction to the branch team to ensure compliance, and manage non-delivery fees, penalties, or fines. You will understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions, analyze detailed financial and credit data, match customer needs with an appropriate loan program and level of risk, and inform prospective and existing customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures. You will manage the allocation of people and financial resources for Mortgage Retail Sales and mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent. This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
  • Compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results.
  • Meeting ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
  • SAFE registration at the time of employment.
  • Meeting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies.
  • Meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards.
  • A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation.
  • Meeting ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary
  • Maintain a broad understanding of Wells Fargo products, guidelines and pricing strategies
