About The Position

Our client, an automotive company, is seeking a Non-IT Project/Program Manager II for its Redford, Michigan location. The role manages challenging industrial projects, directs construction of plant infrastructure, and provides technical support to manufacturing engineering and operations. The manager leads project meetings, evaluates deliverables, provides regular management updates, and makes recommendations with budget and schedule considerations in mind. The position also involves maintaining current project documentation and coordinating with UAW skilled trades and/or contractors on in-house projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management.
At least 3 years of experience managing industrial projects.
Experience managing an industrial project.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to interpret building drawings.
Comfort leading daily meetings.
Proven experience holding people accountable.

Architectural or engineering background could be helpful.

Responsibilities

Manage challenging projects up to $20 million.
Lead regular project meetings to evaluate the accuracy of deliverables and the project schedule.
Provide weekly updates to management.
Evaluate options and make recommendations while considering budget and schedule.
Direct the construction of plant infrastructure.
Evaluate project deliverables.
Provide technical assistance and support to manufacturing engineering and operations.
Use innovative thinking to solve problems.
Ensure project documentation is kept current.
Work with UAW skilled trades and/or contractors to complete in-house projects.
Participate in teams and cross-functional groups.
Develop and implement productivity improvements.
Evaluate and implement new technologies.
Perform special projects as required.
