Non EMT Transportation Driver (Admin-Palatka)
About The Position
The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver will provide for the transportation of patients to and from medical centers and private residences. The driver will ensure that all passengers reach their destinations safely and in a timely fashion, by ensuring that everyone is safely strapped in their seatbelt and/or wheelchair restraints. This position will also provide coverage for the courier when needed. The Courier is responsible for the routine maintenance of AH building and grounds and for courier service between, among, and for the Centers. This description is an outline of the major recurring responsibilities of the job. It is not intended to be all-inclusive of the work performed. Other related job objectives, special assignments and less significant responsibilities will typically be performed by the incumbent.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Florida driver’s license.
- Clean driving record
- No experience necessary. We will provide on the job training.
Responsibilities
- Transporting clients utilizing company vehicle in a professional manner
- Operating vehicle in a safe manner to include parking the vehicle and pulling into/out of temporary loading/unloading areas
- Assisting clients in getting onto the vehicle and safely inside of their respective destination
- Utilizing smart mobile technology to interact with dispatching staff to obtain client trip schedules, report the time of passenger pickups and drop offs, as well as any changes to schedule or traffic delays. Notifying the client, if necessary, of late arrivals
- Reporting any incidents or accidents to the supervisor
- Maintaining a professional image and attitude with clients, visitors, and co-workers
- Operating wheelchair lifts and securing wheelchairs and stretchers in the vehicle
- Completing daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Adhering to company policies and standard operating procedures
- Performs local errands to and from medical facilities, post office, bank and merchants using the company trucks.
- Performs maintenance of buildings and grounds as assigned.
- Maintains equipment, machinery, and van.
- Checks in/receives supplies.
- All other duties as assigned
