About The Position
Primarily responsible for providing professional emergency and non-emergency treatment and/or transport in the pre-hospital or hospital setting. Conducts patient care in compliance with the current Georgia Scope of Practice for the EMT-R provider level. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Completion of Emergency Medical Responder training program (EMT-R).
- Current Georgia EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) certification.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Current AHA/ARC BLS certification.
- CPT training within 9 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Providing professional emergency and non-emergency treatment and/or transport in the pre-hospital or hospital setting.
- Conducting patient care in compliance with the current Georgia Scope of Practice for the EMT-R provider level.
- Carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
- Physically lifting and assisting in the transport of patients.
- Effectively communicating through oral and written means.
- Following verbal and written instructions.
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with employees, volunteers, and management.
- Performing prolonged work under adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress.
- Thinking clearly and using independent judgment in the course of daily work.
- Using and operating diagnostic and patient care equipment.
- Driving an ambulance in a safe and secure manner.
- Utilizing and performing job duties in appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, and mask.
