About The Position

Immediate opening for a SOLO Truck Driver at Ryder in Orlando, FL. This position offers a competitive weekly paycheck of $860 or more, with an hourly rate of $20.00 for approximately 42+ hours per week. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 AM. Ryder emphasizes transparency regarding pay and route details. Drivers will deliver SOLO within a 150-mile radius of Orlando, FL, and will be home daily. The tractor type is a Stake Bed or 26' Straight Truck, equipped with a Lift Gate and Pallet Jack. Freight is touch freight, specifically Electrical Products. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance. Ryder also offers a program to buy your truck if you are switching from Owner Operator to Company Employee Driver.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
