About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Surgical Critical Care Complex (SCCC) team. The SCCC is a 22-bed unit that treats complex post-surgical and traumatically injured patients, including those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, penetrating injuries, ruptured abdominal aneurysms, septic shock, and hemorrhagic shock. In this role, the selected candidate will lead and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, manage and care for patients using approved protocols and procedures, and develop individualized management plans in collaboration with physicians, staff nurses, and other healthcare professionals for surgical critical care patients. The position involves working 7 PM to 7 AM, three shifts per week, and includes a competitive annual premium of over $20,000.00, paid bi-weekly.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Nursing or as a Physician Assistant
Acute Care NP license required.
License or license eligible in state of Delaware.
ACLS and BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an adult critical care setting preferred.
Experience in the management of diverse surgical and trauma critical care scenarios preferred.
PALS and Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Actively lead and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds.
Medically manage and care for patients through utilization of approved protocols and procedures.
Design individualized management plans in collaboration with physicians, staff nurses, and other health care professionals for the surgical critical care patient.
