About The Position

The No Apologies Digital Media & Web Intern supports the continued development and expansion of No Apologies, a character-based program that helps young people make healthy choices about life, relationships, love, and sex. The internship focuses primarily on video editing and website development, turning existing content into engaging, accessible digital resources for facilitators, trainers, and international audiences. Working closely with the Global Ministry team, the intern creates and edits video content, improves the program’s digital experience, organizes resources, and helps strengthen its online presence. Focus on the Family is a Christian nonprofit media ministry headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Its Global Ministry Development team supports 13 Focus on the Family Associate Offices around the world. The internship is intended for college upperclassmen pursuing a summer internship and provides experience in storytelling, marketing, video editing, content strategy, and digital publishing. The position is unpaid, with a $3,500 honorarium. Lunch is provided on workdays, and housing is provided for out-of-town students only. Interns are responsible for transportation, which may be a condition of acceptance. Candidates must be dedicated to sharing the Gospel, live by biblical truths, demonstrate Christian conduct, and align their behavior with Focus on the Family’s core values.

Nice To Haves

Experience with video editing; Premiere Pro and After Effects are preferred.
Web publishing experience; WordPress is preferred.
Experience with social media, specifically YouTube.
Cross-cultural experience.
A design or video portfolio may be requested during the interview process.
The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Film Production, Marketing, Multimedia Design, Web Development, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Create long- and short-form video content using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Edit and repurpose No Apologies video content for social media, training, websites, and presentations.
Identify compelling moments, quotes, stories, and teaching points from existing footage.
Adapt and export videos for platforms such as YouTube, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
Work with the content creator to host international interviews.
Publish digital content on the website and YouTube channel.
Add captions, graphics, music, transitions, and other visual elements in keeping with No Apologies branding.
Perform basic audio cleanup, color correction, caption formatting, and quality control.
Review translated or subtitled videos for formatting and technical consistency.
Research youth-focused digital trends, platforms, video styles, and engagement strategies.
Assist with international adaptation, translation preparation, content review, and quality control.
Contribute to brainstorming, digital campaigns, and other No Apologies projects as needed.
Optimize current No Apologies webpages using WordPress.
Assist with scheduling, editing, and publishing content from an organic marketing perspective.
Work on the No Apologies Ask the Experts Series.
