About The Position

Under the supervision of the NIMAC Director, this position is responsible for developing and delivering universal and targeted technical assistance (TA) to a range of NIMAC users and stakeholders, such as NIMAC Authorized Users and Accessible Media Producers, educational publishers, NIMAS conversion vendors, SEA and LEA staff, and others. Works collaboratively with project leadership and staff to identify TA goals and strategies, develop new TA products and services, and collect data to inform future services. Also supports the project by providing input on workflows, procedures, and system improvements based on feedback from TA recipients.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, library science, or another relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical assistance in an information services setting
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality technical assistance/training
  • A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered when competency in the role is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and training to NIMAC stakeholders—including State Coordinators, Authorized Users, Accessible Media Producers, publishers, and conversion vendors—through webinars, resources, phone/email support, and individualized consultation.
  • Support State Educational Agencies (SEAs) and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in understanding and complying with IDEA 2004 NIMAC/NIMAS requirements through outreach, technical guidance, and occasional on-site support.
  • Coordinate and collaborate on technical assistance initiatives across internal departments, contract-based TA providers, OSEP-funded centers, and partner organizations to expand impact and joint service opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of web-based learning modules, training materials, and other resources to promote stakeholder knowledge and compliance with NIMAC/NIMAS requirements.
  • Collect and analyze needs assessment and program data to inform high-quality technical assistance products, support reporting to OSEP, and identify opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Represent the organization through travel to national and regional conferences, in-person meetings, and outreach activities with SEA and LEA stakeholders.
