About The Position

Sierra Sage Treatment Center offers residential treatment for young women in a safe, supportive, nurturing environment. Through accredited education, vocational training and a normalized high school experience, our youth women are given the skills they need to overcome the effects of abuse, neglect, trauma substance abuse, mental illness and violence so they can make healthy choices for themselves and their futures. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. As a Youth Care Worker, you will have the unique opportunity to create a positive, safe and supportive environment for the youth we serve while building a career rich in growth opportunities and self-fulfillment.

Requirements

Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect
Have a desire to work with troubled teens
Be at least 21 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for the youth in our program.
Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students.
Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
Work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.
