About The Position

Structure Tone, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Night Site Safety Manager in New York City, NY. This role requires a NYC Licensed Site Safety Manager (SSM)/Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (CSFSM). The essential functions include implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations, monitoring the effectiveness of the safety management system, and leading safety personnel. The position involves planning and implementing training programs for managers and employees in work site safety, fire prevention, and chemical handling. It also requires inspecting facilities for hazards, determining corrective measures, ensuring appropriate processes for reporting accidents and incidents, and compiling accident reports. The role includes producing monthly, quarterly, and annual safety performance reports, reviewing accident and incident reports to identify trends and prevent recurrence, and reporting on safety performance at management team meetings. The Night Site Safety Manager will also consult and liaise with the Corporate Safety Director.

Requirements

NYC Licensed Site Safety Manager (SSM)/Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (CSFSM)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or related degree or equivalent work experience is required
10-20 years of general construction experience.
OSHA 30 hour training required

Responsibilities

Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Monitors effectiveness of the safety management system and progress against the Structure Tone safety Performance Standards.
Leads and provides functional management for safety personnel.
Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Ensures that there are appropriate processes in place for promptly alerting the business and STO to significant accidents and incidents.
Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
Produces safety management reports monthly, quarterly and annually on safety performance.
Reviews accident and incident reports and investigation reports, identify any trends and ensure that there is an appropriate response to prevent future recurrence.
Regularly meets with safety personnel to monitor and review management of the function.
Reports on safety performance for the business unit at management team meetings.
Consults and liaises with Corporate Safety Director on the management of safety in the division/business unit.
