About The Position
Sargent Electric is seeking a Site Safety Manager to support a project in Fairbanks, Indiana. The position is eligible for per diem. The manager provides safety training, evaluates field safety and compliance, investigates incidents, identifies causal factors, and develops corrective actions using the Hierarchy of Controls. The role also includes additional duties delegated by Sargent Electric management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in safety management or equivalent.
- OSHA 500 certification.
- Ability to speak in front of the public.
- 2–4 years of construction experience.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, including typing ability.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight time frames, respond to requests in a timely manner, and communicate effectively as a team player.
- Understanding of the importance of multitasking.
Nice To Haves
- CHST or similar certification.
- OSHA 500 – Construction.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Provide general safety training to all personnel.
- Apply knowledge of OSHA 1926 and applicable consensus standards such as NFPA 70E.
- Assist leadership in developing causal factors for near misses and other incidents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks and compliance auditing.
- Lead accident and incident investigations.
- Develop corrective actions for each causal factor using the Hierarchy of Controls.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities delegated by Sargent Electric management.
