About The Position

The Night Nurse Supervisor coordinates clinical care, provides administrative guidance to staff, and supervises nursing personnel. The role delivers nursing care to ensure residents’ needs are met in accordance with professional standards of practice, physician orders, facility policies and procedures, and state, federal, and local guidelines. The position is at Palace at Coral Gables, a luxury independent living community for active adults in Coral Gables, Florida.

Requirements

• Must be currently licensed as a Florida RN or LPN.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Basic math skills required.
• Must be flexible regarding work schedule and available to work weekends, holidays, and in emergencies.
• Must be able to work under pressure and multitask.
• Must be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently and as a team member.

Nice To Haves

• One year of nursing management experience preferred.
• Previous experience in long-term care preferred.
• Spanish preferred.
• Polite, responsible, punctual, resourceful, accurate, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, assign, and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions on resident outcomes.
• Participate in hiring, directing, and assigning nursing staff.
• Counsel nursing personnel and evaluate their performance using quality assurance standards and established policies and procedures.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in developing nursing services objectives, schedules, performance standards, and nursing policies and procedures.
• Assess residents’ care needs, strengths, and potential, and plan interventions to maximize their abilities and optimal level of function using a comprehensive assessment database.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
• Supervise and maintain accurate, informative records for each resident.
• Conduct daily resident rounds and initiate corrective action under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
