About The Position

Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP) is a private, non-profit, social service agency serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Prospect House is a program that provides emergency shelter to thirty-six adults daily in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The program offers comprehensive case management services to address the complex needs of homeless individuals and connects them to long-term housing solutions. Case management includes assessment, transportation, life skills training, and individual, group, and family sessions.

Requirements

Associate's degree in behavioral health and two (2) years experience in related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and economic effects of homelessness, substance abuse and mental illness.
Knowledge of community resources.
Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to project a professional image.

Nice To Haves

Valid Connecticut driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

Remains awake and alert at all times to tend to the needs of the unit and responsibilities of the Night Monitor.
Ensures safety of clients and security of entire building by checking each floor as scheduled.
Answers phones, informs clients concerning available services and facilities, and allows clients entry into building.
Compiles daily client statistics and records client activities.
Participates in staff meetings.
Wakes clients, prepares coffee, and puts out self-service breakfast meal.
Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
