About The Position

The Night Manager is responsible for overseeing store operations during the night shift. This includes managing staff, ensuring customer and staff safety, handling cash and inventory, and maintaining the store's condition. The role requires a strong understanding of total store operations and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Achieves desired gross profit.
  • Achieves desired level of productivity.
  • Projects sales, product movement, and labor needs.
  • Manages and motivates staff, recruits staff, trains and develops staff, according to company policies and employment laws, and ensures relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, etc.).
  • Manages cash and payment systems in accordance with company procedures and policies, at all times with staff and customer safety as the uppermost priority.
  • Manages, maintains, and reports as necessary all merchandise and non-merchandise stock.
  • Manages upkeep and condition of all equipment, fixtures, etc. on premises.
  • Manages health and safety, security, and emergency systems, capabilities and staff and customer awareness, according to company policy and relevant law.
  • Seeks and continuously develops knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicates this to Store Manager.
  • Attends meetings and contributes to company strategy and policy-making as required.
  • Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for store employees.
  • Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
  • Conducts store closing procedures.
  • Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing machines, sanitizing equipment, etc.).
  • Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verifies receipts.
  • May order merchandise and supplies according to established guidelines.
  • Develops personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.
  • Other duties as assigned.
