Night Janitor (Full Time, $16/hr plus Benefits) - Alaska Communications (ACS)

About The Position

This position provides a wide variety of cleaning services and related duties to keep facilities clean and orderly. The role may also include laundry or linen removal, replenishing guest supplies and amenities, light facility maintenance, and other duties that support the department or unit.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 6 months of experience demonstrating working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes.
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and callouts.
Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Must meet applicable health requirements, including current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19; the posting states federal contractor employees must be fully vaccinated by December 8, 2021.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver’s license with a three-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

Clean, sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize, and/or restock assigned hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation or break areas, offsite areas, restrooms, public areas, and other work areas.
Dust low and high areas and wipe down or clean various surfaces.
Remove and transport trash to appropriate disposal areas.
Use appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for assigned tasks.
Maintain clean and orderly carts and storage areas.
Assist with laundry and/or linen removal as needed.
Replenish guest supplies and amenities as required.
Scrub, strip, extract, wax, and buff floors using appropriate equipment as needed.
Change light bulbs and perform light facility maintenance as needed.
Recognize and use appropriate personal protective equipment for each task.
Adhere to safety policies, requirements, and training.
Report material discrepancies, damage, and/or theft to the manager or maintenance department.
Perform other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success.
