About The Position

A Night Floater maintains common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, and other commercial or institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition. The role performs janitorial duties across locations in Burbank and Glendale, California, and assists the building engineer daily at management’s discretion. The scheduled hours are 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Observe safety and security procedures, determine appropriate action beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.

Responsibilities

Spot clean lobby glass doors.
Polish chrome on lobby doors.
Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day.
Inspect the building exterior and pick up trash.
Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor.
Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles.
Check restrooms twice daily.
Vacuum the lobby once a day or as needed.
Sweep stairwells and landings as needed.
Remove debris from landscaped areas as needed.
Sweep building entrances.
Clean and remove smudges and marks from walls, doors, and wall coverings.
Report lights that are out, including exit lights and directory boards, to the Management Office.
Report solicitors to the Management Office.
Keep lobby floors and planters free of paper and debris where applicable, scheduling this work during high-traffic times each day.
Empty all trash receptacles.
Vacuum carpeted floors.
Dust mop lobby floors twice daily.
Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons.
Assist the building engineer daily at management’s discretion.
Follow safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
