About The Position

Hexcel is seeking a Floater Operator at its Pottsville, Pennsylvania location. This position provides support and operates machines wherever needed to cover absences and changing production-capacity demands throughout the plant. The primary focus is the front end of the business, including the HOBE Saw, Expanding, Femco Saw, and Trim Saw.

The operator works from production orders and routings, maintains accurate inventories of Hobe and Nomex material, and uses appropriate measuring tools to determine the length and width of expanded honeycomb. The role requires proper material-handling techniques, compliance with the clean glove handling policy, and forklift operation. The individual supports team and product-process needs by performing tasks required by customer requirements, team consensus, or the production supervisor.

The operator must follow Hexcel Pottsville’s Actively Caring Safety Program, Quality Management System, company policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct. Applicants must meet the stated U.S. immigration eligibility criteria.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience; manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Follow safety guidelines and proper handling techniques.
• Be an active Quality Delegate or be able to pass the requirements to become one.
• Hold a forklift certification or be able to obtain one.
• Good hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Must meet one of the stated U.S. immigration eligibility categories: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, qualifying temporary resident under INA sections 210(a) or 245(A), refugee, or person granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using handheld scanners and interacting with MRP or inventory-control systems.
• Manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities
