About The Position

Custodians provide an enhanced learning environment that reflects IDEA’s commitment to excellence by maintaining a clean, safe, high-quality facility. The Night Custodian supports campus cleaning, maintenance, safety, supply and equipment management, and assigned work orders. The role requires weekday availability from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the ability to work longer hours as needed to meet the campus mission.

Requirements

Available to work weekdays from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Able to understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
Able to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
Able to handle cleaning supplies properly.
Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and responsibility, including zero unexcused absences.
Able to work longer hours as needed to meet the mission goal.

Responsibilities

Provide a clean and healthy environment that supports an enhanced learning environment.
Achieve a proficient rating on the Facilities Rubric and Facilities Audit.
Execute assigned work orders, with the goal of completing 90% of campus projects within 48 hours.
Complete daily cleaning responsibilities with attention to detail.
Work with the Facilities Manager to identify facilities needs for capital expenditure planning.
Operate safely, complete Safe Schools training by the deadline, and use personal protective equipment at all times.
Keep all chemicals on hand locked and immediately report unsafe campus situations.
Manage custodial supplies and equipment efficiently, including minimizing material use and maintaining an accurate inventory log.
Order supplies from the Facilities Manager in accordance with campus guidelines.
Properly use and maintain heavy equipment.
Demonstrate reliability and responsibility through attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and following the work schedule.
Prioritize work and use good judgment to support efficient operations.
