About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects and daily operations during the overnight shift. This role involves reconciling daily financial transactions, processing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and ensuring accuracy in billing and accounting records. The Night Auditor also responds to guest inquiries and addresses any issues that arise during the night, communicates with the next shift associates, and provides the highest quality of service to guests at all times. Additionally, the role requires generating and distributing daily and weekly reports, ensuring Night Audit procedures are followed with great attention to detail, and communicating pertinent information to the manager on duty. The position also involves following set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.

Requirements

  • Must have availability to work overnight hours
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency with reservation and accounting systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for the duration of a shift.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong desire to make an impact on other people
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the shift and review & complete the following: remaining reservations, verify that all contingency reports have been run, resolve discrepancies with departments out of balance, verify no-shows and complete a walk report
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions
  • Process guest check-ins and check-outs, handle reservations and ensure accuracy in billing and accounting records
  • Respond to guest inquiries and address any issues that arise during the night.
  • Communicate with next shift associates by logging pertinent information through the hotel's pass-along system
  • Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest
  • Check guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established.
  • Interact with hotel/resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and policies.
  • Generate, Print and distribute daily and weekly reports
  • Ensure the Night Audit procedures are followed with great attention to detail
  • Communicate all pertinent information to manager on duty.
  • Follow set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.
