The Night Auditor oversees the hotel’s financial and administrative activities during the night shift. The role combines guest service and front desk operations with financial reconciliation, reporting, bookkeeping, and monitoring hotel safety. The Night Auditor works independently and is expected to be detail-oriented and organized. The position involves assisting guests with late check-ins and early check-outs, handling inquiries and requests, managing reservations and room assignments, and maintaining accurate records. It also includes reconciling guest accounts, balancing revenue reports, posting transactions, closing the day’s financial activity in the hotel’s property management system, and distributing reports to relevant departments. During the night shift, the Night Auditor monitors the premises and responds appropriately to emergencies. Physical work is a primary part of many hotel and resort jobs. Duties may take place in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines, and physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
