The Night Auditor balances room, restaurant, and bar activity; posts and balances charges and settlements; maintains files; and resets systems for the next day's operations. The role also performs front desk agent duties as needed. The hotel operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so operational needs may require variations in shift days, starting times, and weekly hours. Responsibilities include preparing restaurant revenue data, running audit reports, making corrections and adjustments, handling computer issues, entering revenue, expenses, and allowances to generate daily reports, balancing revenue and settlement accounts, maintaining and distributing reports and supporting documents, reviewing front desk discrepancies, and coordinating system closing with front desk and restaurant/bar teams. Front desk work includes welcoming guests, completing registration, assigning rooms, coding keys and coupons, processing payments, posting charges, answering calls, handling messages and customer deliveries, and assisting other front desk personnel. The employee must follow company, safety, security, and emergency procedures, maintain a neat and professional appearance, and perform other duties as requested by a supervisor or manager.
