About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for checking in and out hotel guests courteously and efficiently, processing payments, and providing information to guests and visitors. This role works as part of the Front Office team to ensure a seamless guest experience. The Night Auditor also checks front office accounting records for accuracy, summarizes financial information, tracks room revenue and occupancy, and prepares a summary of financial activities for the hotel's records.

  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • Ability to work well under pressure dealing with 50+ arrivals/departures within any given period of time.
  • Ability to focus attention on details.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to three years previous experience in a hotel or high-end retail environment is required.
  • Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail customer service training would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room types, rates, special packages, promotions, daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, room availability, and scheduled group activities.
  • Maintain and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Post charges to guest accounts that were not posted during the day or incurred during the night audit shift.
  • Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts.
  • Verify that all transactions are supported by documentary evidence and signatures, and that they are correctly posted and allocated in the system.
  • Track room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front office statistics.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
  • Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.
  • Prepare End of Day procedures following the End of Day/Night Audit Checklist.
  • Assist PBX with switchboard duties.
