About The Position

This role involves balancing and auditing room revenue and food and beverage revenue for accuracy, and assisting in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues. The position also prepares various audit worksheets and Daily Flash Reports. The Night Auditor assumes responsibilities of the Manager on Duty from midnight until the morning shift arrives, logs guest complaints, and handles guest check-ins and check-outs. Responsibilities include balancing and auditing room and tax charges, cashier reports, and guest and house accounts. The role involves completing and transmitting daily management and accounting reports, preparing customer tracking reports, market segmentation reports, and food and beverage revenue reports to ensure accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses. Communication with other hotel departments is necessary to resolve discrepancies and exchange information. The position also performs Guest Service Representative functions, may assist with room reservations and answering phone calls, and facilitates department key security. The role requires responding quickly to guest requests, following up on guest satisfaction, and handling confidential information with integrity. Daily deposits are made as applicable. Duties include verifying room charges and rates, ensuring the register has appropriate starting cash, and managing daily paperwork such as occupancy reports, guest lists, cash drawer summaries, balance sheets, account summaries, history files, and housekeeping reports. Reports are submitted to the corporate office as appropriate. The role monitors room availability, blocks rooms, and handles guest requests. Security walks are performed and documented regularly. A thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and their implementation is required. The role includes preparing continental breakfast on time and replenishing items as needed. Duties of a Guest Service Agent, including laundry functions, may also be performed. Management decisions may be required in the manager's absence. A professional appearance and adherence to company policies and procedures are expected.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Will work 2 overnight Night Audit shifts and 2 nights Security overnight per week.

  • Balances and audits for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue; assists in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.
  • Prepares various audit worksheets as well as the Daily Flash Reports.
  • Assumes responsibilities of Manager on Duty from Midnight until the morning shift arrives.
  • Logs guest complaints into the Front Desk Communication or Log Book.
  • Registers guests into the hotel and checks guests out of the hotel.
  • Balances and audits for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashiers reports and guest and house accounts.
  • Completes and transmits daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents; prepares customer tracking report, market segmentation report, food and beverage revenue report necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.
  • Communicates with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information.
  • Performs all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assist in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of messages; will facilitate proper security of department keys.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.
  • Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Handles confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity.
  • Makes daily deposits (as applicable).
