About The Position

This position is for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. The role involves providing support in the NICU department, which has 64 beds. The APP will manage infants and neonates, with a patient load of 8 mixed acuity patients on day shifts and 20-30 on night shifts. The position requires experience with high-risk deliveries and the ability to work independently. Special procedures include ECMO support (managed by Fellows), Intubation, Lines, Lumbar puncture, Vent management, PICC, UAC, and UVC.

Requirements

  • Board Certification: Yes, Neonatology
  • License required: No, VA state licensing is approx. 8 weeks. (will need by start)
  • DEA: Yes
  • CSR: Yes
  • Certifications required: BLS, PALS
  • Minimum experience required: 2 years’ experience in NICU, needs to be neonatal trained.

  • Certifications preferred: BLS, PALS
