About The Position

The Niagara Falls Family Resource Center (FRC) Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations, programming, and community engagement of the Family Resource Center in Niagara County. This role focuses on promoting protective factors and improved health outcomes for refugees and other vulnerable populations across Niagara County by coordinating client-facing programs and offerings; connecting families to resources; and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that promotes family well-being and stability. The individual in this role will work closely with the Director of Community Enrichment, the Manager of Family and Community Well-Being, Buffalo FRC Coordinator, and our team of Family Support Specialists and will work to fill gaps on the team where needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Public Health, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–4 years of experience working with families, children, or community-based programs
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs and workshops for families (e.g., Open Play, Mommy and Me time, Clothing Drives/Swaps, Early Childhood Development programs, Financial Literacy classes)
  • Coordinate support groups, events, and community activities
  • Ensure programs are culturally responsive and aligned with community needs
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for families seeking support
  • Conduct needs assessments and provide referrals to appropriate services (housing, healthcare, childcare, mental health, etc.), in coordination with Family Support Team
  • Work with Manager of Family and Community Well-Being to support families in accessing childcare support
  • Perform supervised visitation for Family Court and DSS-involved families
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local resources and partnerships
  • Fill in for Family Support Specialists as needed and where appropriate
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and service providers
  • Create marketing materials and conduct outreach to increase awareness and participation in FRC programs
  • Represent the FRC at community events and meetings
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Family Resource Center
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, culturally-responsive, and organized environment in partnership with rest of team
  • Track program participation, maintain records, and prepare reports
  • Provide back-up for the Buffalo FRC Coordinator as needed
  • Lead the Community Advisory Committee
  • Work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners
  • Support grant requirements, reporting, and data collection efforts
  • Assist program leadership in developing new programs based on community feedback and needs
