About The Position

A Newsroom Intern at News On 6 helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture. The intern gets an inside look at how a local television newsroom operates, working alongside producers, reporters, photographers, and the digital team in the Griffin Media Tulsa newsroom. The role involves shadowing daily newsroom operations and gaining exposure to the full news-gathering process, from story idea to air. It is designed for students pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism, communications, or a related field who want real-world exposure to the pace and teamwork of a working newsroom. This is an unpaid internship for college credit, available for the Spring semester. Interns work primarily dayside hours, with an opportunity to work the morning shift to see a different side of newsroom operations. The schedule is flexible, but interns must meet the hours required for their college credit. Availability is required for up to 16 hours per week.
