About The Position
Priority Media, home of Sunny 106 and Connect FM, is hiring a part-time News Reporter to cover Clearfield and Jefferson Counties. The reporter will cover local government meetings, school boards, and community events, mostly on weeknights, with a few daytime assignments. They will write clear, accurate stories for on-air newscasts, Facebook pages, and station websites, gather quotes and details, turn stories around quickly, and identify stories that matter to local listeners. Journalism experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided to the right person. The position offers a flexible part-time schedule and the opportunity to contribute to a hometown media team serving the community.
Requirements
- Strong writing skills and attention to accuracy.
- Reliability and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Comfort attending public meetings and talking with local officials and residents.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
