About The Position

This is an eight-week paid summer internship in the newsroom of the Bucks County Courier Times. Interns will cover a variety of topics and issues, reporting on news, sports, and feature stories. The internship is funded through a nonprofit partner via stipend. Three intern positions are available for the summer of 2026. Interns will work in the main newsroom and report to the editor and news director.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking student currently enrolled at a college or university.
  • Strong command of AP writing, spelling, grammar, and style.
  • Solid fact-checking and reporting skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and flexible.
  • Open to new ideas, new experiences and learning on the job.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience performing a wide variety of tasks under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • If selected for a driving role: valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and minimum liability insurance required by state law.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a post-offer pre-employment background check and drug screen (for driving roles only).

Nice To Haves

  • Decent digital skill set.
  • Some minimum experience, at least on a college newspaper.
