About The Position

A news intern will work in the newsroom of the Bucks County Courier Times. The intern will cover a variety of topics and issues over eight weeks for the summer, paid through a nonprofit partner via stipend. They will report to the editor and news director and work weekdays and some weekends. The intern should have a decent digital skill set and some minimum experience, at least on a college newspaper. The interns will work in the main newsroom and cover a variety of topics and news, sports and feature stories. There will be three intern positions for the summer of 2026.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking student currently enrolled at a college or university.
  • Strong command of AP writing, spelling, grammar, and style.
  • Solid fact checking and reporting skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and flexible.
  • Open to new ideas, new experiences and learning on the job.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience performing a wide variety of tasks under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • If selected for a driving role, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the minimum liability insurance required by state law.
