About The Position

Researches and provides up-to-date information regarding the surveillance, investigation and evaluation of communicable or chronic diseases, injuries or conditions. Assists in the planning and implementation of epidemiological programs to prevent and control diseases, injuries, or conditions affecting the health of the Cherokee Nation's Indian population. Provides technical assistance and support to Cherokee Nation staff, and to various local, state, and federal agencies within the boundaries of their competence, based on their documented education, training, supervised experience, state and national professional credentials, and appropriate professional experience. The focus is Breast and Cervical Cancer.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Biology, Medical, or Health Science.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of database software, Internet software, spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
  • Must not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Nice To Haves

  • Proof of at least twenty (20) hours of coursework in epidemiological methods, statistical methods, and analysis may be substituted for work experience.
