About The Position

Reuters is looking for a News Infrastructure Technician to join their team in New York City. This role supports the technology and workflows that power Reuters' news organization. The technician will provide critical technical support for Reuters' Editorial operations, working closely with journalists, production teams, engineers, and external partners to ensure reliable, high-quality news coverage and content delivery. The role operates within a 24/7 follow-the-sun support model, combining technical expertise with a service-oriented mindset to resolve complex issues, support live news and event coverage, and drive operational excellence. Occasional travel for major off-site events and productions is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • A results-driven mindset, strong sense of urgency, and the ability to succeed in a collaborative team environment.
  • A proven record of delivering high-quality work on schedule in fast-paced, high-pressure settings.
  • Knowledge and experience in broadcast engineering, including pre-production and post-production workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting PC and Mac desktop hardware, operating systems, and software applications, along with end-user IT support and engineering/broadcast delivery solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day technical support activities and collaborate with internal and external resources to support Reuters news coverage and live events.
  • Oversee key technologies and support broadcast delivery systems located in-house and at designated third-party colocation sites, while managing media distribution across multiple platforms for Reuters clients and subscribers.
  • Partner with Reuters video producers, deputy editors, and external vendors to ensure seamless content production and timely delivery of media assets.
  • Champion innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement by promoting efficient media and broadcast workflows.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams and third-party providers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment, platform, and workflow issues within required turnaround times.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, including PC hardware asset records, standard operating procedures, knowledge-base articles, checklists, and incident reports.
  • Represent the Editorial business in special projects, events, PC builds and hardware-refresh programs, employee onboarding, and local-area-network (LAN) support activities.
