About The Position

The Infrastructure Technician is responsible for installing and servicing copper and fiber optic cabling systems, including Category 3, Category 5, Cat5e, Category 6, and fiber optic structured cabling systems. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing cabling infrastructure systems, as well as performing upgrades and additions to existing systems. The technician will also install and remove cabinets, racks, cable tray systems, and related communications infrastructure. Coordination with operations teams, maintaining accurate documentation, managing equipment and supplies, supporting emergency service requests, and transporting tools and materials are key aspects of the job. Participation in meetings, workshops, training, and safety programs, along with achieving performance metrics and KPIs, are also expected. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with copper and fiber optic cabling systems (Category 3, Category 5, Cat5e, Category 6, fiber optic structured cabling).
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cabling infrastructure systems.
  • Proficiency in installing and removing cabinets, racks, cable tray systems, and related communications infrastructure.
  • Strong coordination skills with operations teams.
  • Ability to maintain accurate work documentation, time reporting, material usage records, and project status updates.
  • Skill in requesting and managing equipment and supplies.
  • Willingness to support emergency service requests and after-hours work.
  • Ability to transport tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Willingness to participate in meetings, workshops, training, and safety programs.
  • Ability to achieve performance metrics and KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service copper and fiber optic cabling systems, including Category 3, Category 5, Cat5e, Category 6, and fiber optic structured cabling systems.

  • Maintain accurate work documentation, time reporting, material usage records, and project status updates.
  • Request and manage equipment and supplies required for project completion.
  • Support emergency service requests and after-hours work as needed to meet customer SLAs.
  • Transport tools, materials, and equipment to customer locations.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and safety programs.
  • Achieve performance metrics and KPIs established by leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
