The Washington Post is seeking a creative and collaborative News Designer based on the West Coast to help shape the presentation of our journalism across digital platforms. The News Design team is a group of visual journalists dedicated to elevating The Post’s reporting through compelling presentation and innovative storytelling. Working across washingtonpost.com, mobile experiences, newsletters, social platforms and emerging digital products, News Designers create visual packages that help readers better understand the news while strengthening The Post’s distinctive visual identity. We are looking for a designer with strong visual judgment, a deep interest in news and a clear point of view about how design can make journalism more engaging and understandable. The ideal candidate is energized by collaborating with journalists across disciplines, balancing daily news demands with ambitious enterprise projects and brings curiosity, precision and creativity to complex editorial challenges. This remote position can be based in Washington state or California and will require occasional night and weekend work.
