We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. We are looking for a West Coast Communications Manager to serve as a key partner to the Head of Communications, helping manage day-to-day comms operations. In this role, you will help build a systematic media engine and deepen relationships across tech, AI, business, and emerging media.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in related or adjacent field
  • 5-7 years of tech/AI or corporate communications experience
  • Strong understanding of the tech/AI, startup, and SF media landscape
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing and communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day management of communications priorities, partnering closely with the Head of Communications to keep the team's execution sharp and on schedule
  • Build and maintain comms calendars, trackers, and agendas that keep announcements, media moments, and events organized and on track
  • Coordinate internal workflows across announcements, media opportunities, speaking engagements, and events, working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders
  • Develop and deepen relationships with tech reporters, AI beat reporters, newsletter writers and Substack authors, podcast hosts, creators, and other emerging voices shaping the AI and tech conversation
  • Support the planning and execution of announcement launches end-to-end, from strategy through post-launch follow-up
  • Draft pitches, media briefs, talking points, and prep documents that position the company and its spokespeople effectively
  • Coordinate interviews, briefings, podcast appearances, and speaking opportunities, managing logistics and prep with reporters, hosts, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain coverage trackers that capture press mentions, sentiment, and share of voice across key narratives
