About The Position

iHeartMedia is seeking an experienced anchor, writer, and reporter for its Georgia News Network operation. The role involves anchoring newscasts for multiple markets and producing timely, objective, and balanced news content in a fast-paced newsroom. The position includes one or both weekend days and requires flexibility in weekday hours. It is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and is regular part-time hourly employment.

Requirements

• Experience as an anchor, writer, and reporter.
• Ability to write clear, concise news copy.
• Ability and willingness to work weekends and flexible hours during the week.

Responsibilities

• Gather and verify information through interviews, observation, and research, maintaining objective and balanced reporting.
• Monitor news sources, including wires and social media, for breaking news.
• Plan, write, edit, and voice news broadcasts.
• Finalize content using digital audio editing software.
• Meet deadlines to deliver news stories in a timely manner.
• Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts.
• Identify technical equipment and resource needs for recording interviews and other audio material.
• Produce assigned features and interviews.
• Prepare written content, visual images, audio material, and video footage for websites, blogs, and social-media platforms.
• Anchor newscasts for multiple markets.
• Write clear, concise news copy.
• Produce, edit, and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
• Post news and video content to newsroom social-media platforms.
• Gather audio from press conferences, live events, and partner TV stations.
• Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift.
• Anchor breaking news reports as needed.
• Perform general newsroom responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
• May specialize in a field such as political, traffic, finance, or military news.
